BIOGRAPHY

Agustina Crespo (1983, Buenos Aires, Argentina) began her musical studies with private tuition after which she entered the composition licenciature in the School of Arts and Musical Sciences “Universidad Católica Argentina” (UCA), where she graduated with honours in 2007 and where she also finished studies of Sound and Music Recording and Production.She studied with composers Marta Lambertini (2004-2005), Juan Ortíz de Zárate (2006), Julio Viera (2007), Gerardo Gandini (2008) and Marcelo Delgado (2005, 2009 – 2012).

She is, at the moment, finishing her postgraduate specialist studies in composition and singing at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory of Buenos Aires and writing her thesis for the composition doctoral program at UCA.

Crespo has attended various composition master classes, courses and festivals such as Ciel Academy (2022), Forecast Platform Berlin (2022), Forum Nueva Música (Córdoba, 2013, 2017), Centre Acanthes (France 2010, 2009), International Academy of Composition and New Technologies 2008 (Buenos Aires, 2008), where she had the opportunity to discuss her work with Mark André, Juan Carlos Tolosa, Mathias Spahlinger, Beat Furrer, Hugues Dufourt, Ivan Fedele, Ian Maresz and Martín Matalón.

She was granted with Melos/Gandini Scholarship to study Composition with Gerardo Gandini in 2008.

She has been awarded various prizes and scholarships (National Fund of Arts Honorific Mention 2023, “Revelation Composer Award” Radio Nacional Clásica 2023, 2nd Prize Symphonic Orchestra Contest of Buenos Aires, 1st prize National Composition Contest SADAIC 2016;  2nd Prize of the Argentinean Music Council – Unesco 2013;  Prix d’Encouragement du Conseil Général du Pas-de-Calais 2012;  selected finalist of the 1st National Competition for Voices – Nonsense Ensemble 2012, among others) and worked with ensembles and performers such as Linea Ensemble, Dal Niente Ensemble, Nonsense Ensemble, La Compañía Oblicua, MEI, the Buenos Aires Quartet, Cuenco del Plata and Tropi Ensemble.

Crespo’s music has been broadcasted by many important New Music groups and performed in several concert halls of Argentina. Her music has been also heard internationally, in countries such as Uruguay, Colombia, Spain, France, Germany and USA.

She lives in Buenos Aires working as a freelance composer, singer and teacher at Tres de Febrero National University and at Quilmes National University.
